Electrogalvanizing

Electro-galvanized nails feature a protective zinc coating applied through a precise electroplating process, providing a defense against rust and corrosion in controlled environments. The zinc layer creates an electrochemical barrier that helps protect the underlying steel, making these fasteners suitable for indoor applications where moderate protection against corrosion is needed. The relatively thin zinc coating, typically ranging from 5 to 15 microns, means these nails are not recommended for outdoor applications or environments with high moisture exposure. Since 2020, we have expanded our protection solutions to include hot-dip galvanized products, which provide substantially thicker zinc coatings and are specifically designed for outdoor applications and harsh environmental conditions. Unlike electro-galvanized nails, hot-dip galvanized products offer the robust protection needed for exterior use and challenging environments.

Eco-friendly process

Galvanized steel is one of the most environmentally friendly building materials available on the market. In terms of environmental sustainability, not all materials come close to what galvanized steel has to offer in terms of its properties in production, its life cycle, or its reusability. Our automatic lines are economical and efficient, and the vapor absorbers and wastewater treatment plants produced by Wigal Company do not allow harmful substances to enter the environment.

Galvanized steel is also recyclable. It can be recycled separately as an individual product or it can be recycled with other steel scraps. Galvanization can definitely be considered a sustainable and eco-friendly process.

Nail finishing types:

BRIGHT (B): Nails without any coating are used for interior work where the dry environment is more frequent and the nails are not affected by any natural factors.

ELECTRO-GALVANIZED WHITE (EG White): This method of coating the nails protects them from a variety of natural factors, so nails can be used to fasten outdoor structures.

HOT-DIP GALVANIZED (HDG): Our company produces nails from hot-dip galvanized wire, making additional galvanizing of nails unnecessary. The zinc layer of hot-dip galvanized steel products is significantly thicker than normal, making them even more resistant to corrosion.

VINYL (V): The vinyl reduces the friction between the nail and the wood, so the nail is hammered easier and faster. The heat generated from friction during nailing heats the vinyl coating, which “sticks” to the wood. Such nails become much more resistant to traction force.
